FRENCH CURL, LOOSE CURLS, BONE STRAIGHT
All three hair types French Curls (wavy), Loose Curls (curly), and Bone Straight (straight) are made from the same synthetic base fiber.
The only difference is their texture and finish.
That means the maintenance process is similar, with a few tweaks based on curl pattern.
1. Wear a Bonnet (Non-Negotiable)
We’ve said it before and we’ll keep saying it:
A satin or silk bonnet is a game changer for longevity.
It prevents frizz, matting, and curl collapse. Don’t sleep without it.
2. Use Leave-In Conditioner (Only on Curls)
This is specifically for French Curls and Loose Curls (NOT Bone Straight).
Apply lightly to the ends only once or twice a week
Keeps curls soft, hydrated, and less prone to frizz
Avoid roots and mid-lengths to prevent build-up
3. Finger-Detangle Weekly
Use your fingers once or twice a week to gently separate curls and remove tangles—especially while applying leave-in.
No combs. No brushes. Keep it gentle.
4. Maintain Curl Definition (French Curls Only)
French Curls are soft and tend to lose shape if not properly installed or preserved.
Before bed, wrap your hair in a curl-protective style.
Then cover with a bonnet
This keeps the curl pattern intact for reuse.
5. Takedown with Care
When uninstalling:
Gently unravel braids
Detangle any shed strands from the bundle
Soak hair in warm water + mild shampoo + a splash of white vinegar
Rinse gently. No wringing or twisting.
Air dry flat in a cool space
6. Trim & Refresh
Once dry, check for frizzed ends or knots.
Use scissors to snip off any ragged strands, then fluff lightly.
Don’t over-manipulate just refresh and pack for storage.
7. Reuse Tip
For the second or third install, opt for regular box braids or knotless styles from top to bottom.
These styles are gentler on reused hair and help stretch its lifespan.

I bought 9 packs of pre-stretched braiding hair in the color Glimmer. I had it braided to vacation-length over my locs, and ended up using exactly 8.5 bundles for the style pictured. The color blend is unique because in certain lighting, my braids looked ice blue; other times it looked soft blue with hints of the other colors in the blend. That's a big indicator of how well-blended a bundle is. It came out better than I envisioned.
I got sooo many compliments, from install in the salon chair, to my job, airport, throughout my travels, and even 4 weeks later, when my natural locs were starting to frizz underneath, I still got compliments!! Blue is my favorite color and as y'all know, it's impossible to find fun colors or beautiful color blends without sacrificing quality or toxicity.
Now to be frank I live in the U.S. and the import duty taxes + shipping wasn't cheap (2026 current events 😬), but this company was extremely communicative, helpful, and transparent when I asked questions. And ngl, this hair being washable and reusable, easy on the hands and gorgeous makes it a worthy investment. I don't have to throw it out after 1 use or be afraid of hidden carcinogens and poison in my PROTECTIVE style!
This hair gave me no itch, didn't have to pre-ACV rinse, already came pre-stretched, and lasted a solid 4 weeks, which is the max time I can have a protective style in before taking it down to maintain the health of my locs.
